Past and Future Events

We attend a number of shows each year re-enacting American Civil War (ACW) period with the Southern Skirmish Association (SoSkAn) or participating in multi-period displays.

As ACW we portray a Union Field Artilllery Battery, Battery F of the 43rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Reserve, supporting our friends of the 42nd Pennsylvania 'Bucktails'.

For multi-period we team up with a C15th Artillery group, The Kynges Ordynaunce, who operate a fine set of three reproduction C15th hoop-and-stave guns.

Please come along to any of the shows and see our piece in action.

2010 Events:

All events to be confirmed.
2009 Events:
  • 10th & 11th April:
ACW Re-enactment at Wellington Country Park, nr Reading

Our first event of the year and a first for Soskan, Wellington provides a great venue of open deer park and sparse woodland, ideal for public access to the Living History camps as well as an interesting layout for the Battle re-enactment. We were accompanied here by renown Re-enactment photographer and Soskan veteran Roy Daines who took some fantastic shots of our 6lbr in action. Saturday's battle saw our position overrun by Rebel forces, only to ultimately defeat them on the Sunday. Event Pictures
  • 20th & 21st June:
ACW Re-enactment at Puxton Park, Somerset

A small local event for us at Puxton Park. Event Pictures
  • 18th & 19th July:
    Berkeley Castle Skirmish, Gloucestershire

This is a Medieval Skirmish Event run by Plantagenet Events. During the day there is a 'Gunpowder Through the Ages' demonstration where our Cannon brings the proceedings up to the 19th Century.
  • 10th & 11th October:
ACW Skirmish at the American War Museum at Claverton, Bath

The last event of the year. Involving over 100 costumed re-enactors this is the biggest living-history event of the season. Unfortunately, at short notice, we were informed that we were not permitted to fire our 6lbr at this event so instead it became a static display for the public for view.
