The First Assembly

On Saturday 13th May 2006 we completed the first assembly of the gun carriage. Although there are still a number of tasks to complete, e.g. trimming studding, fixing last pieces of metal work, chains, etc.. we are very pleased with the result of the initial build.

With the Cheeks fixed to the Trail and mounted on the axle, Understraps are fitted in place to clamp the assembly to the Trail

The towing ring, or Lunette Plate, Handles and Aiming Rings are
bolted to the end of the Trail


The Elevating Screw is mounted


and the complete Carriage is rolled out into the daylight
