Welcome to the Artillery Society website
The Artillery Society is a small group from the Bristol (UK) area who undertook the project to build a 19th Century
artillery piece, a 6 pounder of 1841.
The project was started in 1999 and the cannon slowly took shape over the next seven years.
We now attend a number of shows each year re-enacting American Civil War (ACW) period with the
Southern Skirmish Association (SoSkAn)
or participating in multi-period displays.
As ACW we portray a Union Field Artilllery Battery, Battery F of the 43rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Reserve,
supporting our friends of the
42nd Pennsylvania 'Bucktails'.
Please browse around the site to meet the members, see pictures of our
cannon's construction, and view our
events or facebook pages
for details and pictures of us firing our cannon. Please contact us via the
online form or
email for more information.
